The Madaro Family Community Fund (MFCF) is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to supporting the families and children of East Boston, Revere, and Winthrop through community events and fundraising efforts. During the holiday season, MFCF hosts an annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner for underprivileged families as well as Eastie’s Elves, a toy collection initiative that culminates in a community holiday reception.

The Madaro Family Community Fund was founded and is led by Adrian and Ariel Madaro. Adrian is a first-generation American and a lifelong East Boston resident. In 2015, Adrian was elected as State Representative for East Boston, and is now serving his fourth term after being re-elected in 2020. Ariel, an assistant clerk magistrate at the East Boston Court, grew up in New York and moved to the Boston area in 2008. Adrian and Ariel met as

undergraduate students at Tufts University in a child development class taught by the same professor who would officiate their wedding seven years later. Adrian and Ariel have always shared a commitment to serving those in need and effectuating meaningful change within their communities. Since founding the Madaro Family Community Fund in 2016, they have facilitated the donation of thousands of toys and holiday gifts and served hundreds of families’ Thanksgiving meals year after year.

Madaro Family Community Fund’s Goals

Community Engagement

Our Thanksgiving Day Dinner and Eastie’s Elves Reception create opportunities for the community to join together in celebration of the holiday season with food and drink, raffles, music and dance performances. Open to all, they are a great way to get to meet new neighbors or catch up with friends while supporting a holiday toy collection.

Partnership with Local Businesses

The Madaro Family Community Fund’s work on behalf of the neighborhood could not be done without our partnerships with businesses, organizations and residential communities. Our organization wants to support families in the community while also highlighting and engaging with our local businesses and organizations that are the core of our community.

Spreading Holiday Cheer

Our organization’s main priority is uplifting members of the community during the holiday season, a time that is particularly challenging for many families. Thanks to the support from community members and partners, we’ve been able to meet the needs of thousands each year through holiday meals, toys, and gift cards. Everyone deserves to have a festive and fun-filled holiday season, and we are glad that we can spread the holiday cheer throughout the East Boston, Winthrop, and Revere communities.
